Baggage

What you can bring, and what's included in your fare.

What's included in your fare

Every flight shows its included bags before you pay, and your booking keeps the same details. Each airline sets its own size and weight limits.

  • Personal item: a small bag that fits under the seat, like a purse or laptop bag.
  • Carry-on bag: goes in the overhead bin. Some basic fares don't include one.
  • Checked bag: travels in the hold. The number of bags and the weight depend on the fare.

Carry-on tips

Keep what you can't travel without in the cabin with you.

  • Pack documents, medicines, keys, money and electronics in your carry-on.
  • Liquids: containers of 100 ml (3.4 oz) or less, all in one clear resealable bag of about 1 liter (1 quart).
  • Power banks and spare lithium batteries must stay in your carry-on, never in checked bags.

Checked bags

Bags over the airline's weight or size limit can cost extra, paid to the airline at the airport.

  • Put your name and phone number on a tag outside and a note inside each bag.
  • Arrive early: airlines close bag drop some time before departure.
  • Take a photo of your bag and what's inside. It helps if it gets lost.
  • On connecting flights in one booking, bags are usually checked to your final destination. Ask at check-in.

Extra bags

Need more bags after booking? You can usually add them with the airline, on its website or at the airport, with your airline booking reference. Adding bags through Bloo Away is coming soon.

Special items

Sports equipment, musical instruments, strollers, car seats and mobility aids often have their own rules and fees. Check with the airline, or ask us, before you travel.

Items not allowed

Some items can't fly at all, and others are allowed only in the cabin or only in the hold, such as flammable products, compressed gas and some batteries.

Delayed, lost or damaged bags

Report it at the airline's baggage desk before you leave the arrival airport. Airlines handle baggage claims, and we can help you reach them.

  • Keep the report reference, your bag tags and your boarding pass.
  • Keep receipts for essentials you buy while you wait. The airline may cover them under its rules.
